KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – July 13, 2024 – Yayasan Usahawan Malaysia (YUM), announced a strategic collaboration with Adastra Intellectual Property Sdn Bhd (Adastra). This initiative aims to equip entrepreneurs with the knowledge and tools needed to protect and leverage intellectual property (IP) for business success. The partnership was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony held on July 11, 2024.

Collaboration Objectives
This initiative aims to increase awareness among Southeast Asian entrepreneurs about the value and importance of IP. It will equip them with the knowledge and tools to identify, protect, and manage their IP assets, ultimately connecting them with resources and expertise to navigate the IP landscape in the region.

Joint Efforts
SEBA, and Adastra will collaborate on a range of activities, includes organising workshops and talks on various IP topics relevant to entrepreneurs, developing educational materials such as guides, and webinars. They will also leverage SEBA’s communication channels and Asia Connect’s e-magazine platform to raise awareness about IP. Additionally, they will explore the possibility of creating an award recognition program for outstanding IP management practices among entrepreneurs.

YUM understands the critical role Intellectual Property plays in driving entrepreneurial growth. Through collaboration and recognition, we empower innovators to protect their ideas and build sustainable businesses, said Nitesh Malani, Chairman of YUM.

Intellectual property is the cornerstone of innovation, particularly for SMEs. It transforms intangible ideas into valuable assets, driving growth, securing competitive advantage, and attracting essential investment.
